Totally Biased Fan Review:
This one really has it all. An impressively schizophrenic plot that encompasses all the whacked out story elements we've come to expect from good made for tv melodrama.
When Lucas Marshall and his family are attacked en route to their summer cabin, a passing drifter comes to their rescue. But soon after being welcomed into their home, the stranger engages the family in a treacherous game of deceit and manipulation, forcing them to realize that his encounter with them was no accident.
Corin plays Simon, the aforementioned drifter. He passes himself off as a harmless, hot looking handyman but he's really a psycho with secrets and bad intentions. While Mr. Marshall is feeling emasculated over his failure to protect his family, Simon insinuates himself into the Marshall's daily life. He fixes stuff, kills raccoons and buys sexy underwear for Mrs. Marshall - effectively filling the job position left vacant by work-obsessed, wimpy Lucas.
From the get go, the Lolita daughter is all over Simon like a bad rash but he's got bigger prey in his sights. In a scene which is both icky and mesmerizing, Simon makes a move on Mrs. Marshall, possibly the most frumpishly dressed housewife in television history. This sets in motion a chain of events which leads to a pretty gripping conclusion and a lot of interesting revelations.
The Good:
- The kid from 7th Heaven (David Gallagher) is in it with an awesomely sour countenance that makes you wonder if he's got the same crazy gene Simon has.
- Skillful performance from Corin - he transitions from creepy to like-able to vulnerable and makes it look effortless.
- More twists and turns than average for this fare - keeps it interesting.
- Liked the ending (but I won't spoil it for you).
The Bad:
- Lee Garlington's wardrobe
- All that talk about "catching crabs."
The Ugly:
- Glynnis O'Connor's wardrobe
Recommendation:
Worth a watch, either through Netflix or on DVD if you're diehard fan.

LOVE YOU CORIN
